How to Make Your Candle Last Longer (and Burn Beautifully Every Time)
At Divine Glow Candle Co., we handcraft our candles to fill your space with hours of warm glow and inviting aroma. With just a few simple habits, you can make your candle last even longer — and keep it looking just as lovely as the day you brought it home.
Here’s how we care for ours:
1. Give Your Wick a Quick Trim
Before you light up, snip the wick down to about ¼ inch. This keeps the flame steady, reduces smoke, and helps your candle burn more evenly. Think of it as a tiny tune-up before each use.
2. Let the First Burn Do Its Magic
That very first light matters. Let your candle burn long enough for the melted wax to reach all the edges — no rushing. This simple step prevents tunneling and sets the stage for an even burn every time.
3. Keep Burn Times in Check
As tempting as it is to let it glow all day, we recommend burning your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. It keeps the scent fresh, the wax healthy, and the wick happy.
4. Choose a Calm Spot
Candles love a peaceful space. Keep yours away from open windows, fans, or busy walkways so the flame can burn evenly without wasting wax.
5. Refill, Refresh, Repeat
When you’ve reached the end, there’s no need to say goodbye. Wipe the glass clean with a soft cloth and a bit of rubbing alcohol, then pop in one of our refill T-lites. It’s a fresh scent and a fresh start — without tossing the jar.
💡 Pro Tip: Move your candle around your home every so often. A new spot can give your space (and your mood) a whole new vibe.
